South County Crew
South County Crew is entering its eighth season of rowing in the 2012-2013 school year. The crew team has seen our team grow and produce a talented group of well-trained and competitive student athletes, several of whom are now competing at the college level. With such a dedicated group of hardworking and enthusiastic athletes, SC Crew will continue to grow and be successful. During the 2011-12 season, two South County Crew boats won GOLD at the Virginia State Championship Regatta!
South County Crew is a co-ed team where all rowers work together to help the entire team grow. This, along with the friendships created, the fun experienced at every Crew event and practice, and the competitive spirit exhibited by our athletes has led to our successes.
The Stallions are committed to the continued development and attainment of excellence of rowers as students and as athletes. Our goals are to instill the value of hard work, time management, and self-discipline to help our students achieve success in both academics and athletics. We strive to give every athlete as many opportunities to participate in regattas as possible and hope our boats enjoy success along the way. This year we hope to again send many of our athletes to the Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia and the SRAA Nationals competition.
South County Crew is especially grateful for our dedicated coaches and our Crew Booster members and parents, all of whom show commitment to these student rowers by their continued involvement in the management and support of this team. Without their gifts of time, sweat, and fundraising, South County Crew would not exist.

Financial Support
Crew is a club sport in Fairfax County and, as such, is not supported by Fairfax County Public School funds. Financial support for the program must come from parents, student-athletes and fundraising activities.
Our crew program is sponsored and supported by the non-profit South County Crew Boosters Club which manages the rowing program by:
1. Hiring the coaches
2. Procuring and maintaining SCHS Crew Team equipment
3. Raising funds through individual assessments and fundraising activities.
4. Coordinating in and off season activities
The South County Booster Club's Board of Directors is elected annually.
The contributions of both the student-athletes and their families financially and through participation in work activities are the cornerstone of the program's success.
